The FLOJET Accumulator Tank when used with a diaphragm pump gives you the best of both worlds! High flow when you need it and the ability to restrict the flow for sensitive situations. When the pump starts, liquid enters the reservoir compressing the bladder until the maximum pressure for the pressure switch is reached then the pump shuts off.

When using a backpack or dolly 12v pump system the water flow setting you want can cause the pump to cycle on and off. The constant cycling will cause the pump controller to overheat and fail prematurely. Adding this accumulator allows just enough water to be stored under pressure to support slow water usage/flow while allowing the pump to enjoy 1 to 2 seconds of off cycle times.
A small 12v pump like this is fine running constantly for 5 to 30 minutes but does not like to be cycled on and off in less than a second repeatedly.
